Flu, Don't Risk It
When it comes to the winter months, catching the flu can have a huge impact on people’s lives, sometimes to devastating effect. The Scottish Government wanted to highlight the importance of getting the flu vaccine at winter, focusing on those with pre-existing health conditions, as they are most at risk from falling unwell.
With a complex message, tight budget, and a broad target audience, we needed to implement a clever creative solution. By creating a documentary style one-minute piece of content, we distilled the key facts into a simple yet powerful message; the flu vaccine is the best chance you’ll can get this winter, so when it comes to Flu, don’t risk it.
We wanted to capture the implications of not getting the vaccination by shooting in a working A&E department with a knowledgeable consultant. By adopting emotive visual cues and an equally powerful interview with a practicing A&E specialist, we created an emotionally engaging, resonant and memorable piece of public communication.
The commercial was broadcast on TV, social media and within doctor’s surgeries across the country, resulting in a broadcast reach of 823,000 people in Scotland and a re-run of the commercial in the winter of 2017.
Flu, Don't Risk It was nominated in the 2017 Scottish Creative Awards for Commercial Over 21 Seconds, and Commercial £20k or less.
